Afternoon Tea at The Langham Huntington
I have never attended an Afternoon Tea before so I was ecstatic when the Langham Huntington Hotel agreed to host me and a guest for their tea. I was so excited that I spent almost an hour picking out my perfect outfit. I arrived to the hotel and I immediately gasped. The Langham Huntington is located in Pasadena, California. Pasadena is one of my favorite parts of Los Angeles because it is remote, green and gorgeous. The hotel only does valet parking but the attendant let me know that the staff at the afternoon tea would validate my parking ticket (they did and parking was only $6).
I purposely arrived way before my tea reservation so I could explore the grounds and the lobby. I felt so fancy walking around this amazing 5 star hotel. The lobby is gorgeous with sparkling chandeliers and blooming orchids. I loved all the little details too; a grandfather clock, floral vases and huge pieces of art. I gasped once again when I walked out of the lobby and into the courtyard. It was beautiful! The trees were in full bloom and they looked so pretty against the pink hotel building. I felt like I had been transported into a fairy tale!

I chose my best friend Courtney as my guest because when we were roommates in college, I remembered how much she loved tea. She was so excited to attend the tea too! She arrived and we made our way to the tea room, which is located in the Lobby Lounge. This room was also impressive, with a live pianist playing lovely music. A staff member immediately came up to us and offered us menus and champagne while they got our table ready. The tea selection is huge and I was so happy to have Courtney there to help me choose one! We were seated in the best table in the room; located directly in front of floor to ceiling windows that overlook the gardens. The garden area was vast and I loved being able to see the mountains from my seat. Courtney chose a Moroccan Mint tea and I chose a Peach Flower tea. The tea came out right away and it was a perfect choice for me, as I love all things peach flavored.

I let our waiter Alfredo know that I was allergic to nuts and he had the chef prepare a special plate of desserts for me! I felt like a little kid on Christmas day when Alfredo brought out our tiered trays of desserts and sandwiches. They were cute and perfectly arranged. I was so impressed with the presentation alone! Courtney and I sat and enjoyed our tea and desserts. Alfredo came by often and offered us more tea. Alfredo was a great waiter and his thoughtfulness regarding my allergies meant the world to me. Every member of the staff that I encountered was kind and efficient. After another glass of champagne, Courtney and I explored the grounds more. After wandering for a bit, we stumbled upon the Japanese garden and the pool area. We even ran into a beautiful bride getting ready to marry her fiance!

I was so sad to leave the hotel! It is unlike any hotel I have ever visited. The Afternoon Tea was a delight and I am forever grateful to Langham Huntington for having Roaming Love for the day! If you ever want to experience an authentic Afternoon Tea, I would recommend checking out the tea at Langham Huntington. I think it would be perfect for a mother’s day gift, a bridal shower or even a baby shower. It is just such a beautiful atmosphere in the Lobby Lounge (where the tea took place)! Thank you, Langham Huntington!
